Our Approach

97 Years of Care — Protecting Our Future, Inspiring Hope

Get Started Today

At Griffith Centers, we believe healing and hope are the foundation for lasting change. For nearly a century, we have been dedicated to serving Colorado’s most vulnerable children, adults, and families through compassionate, trauma-informed mental and behavioral health services.

As a nonprofit organization with deep roots dating back to 1927, we have grown from a small shelter for boys into a statewide provider offering a comprehensive continuum of care — all designed to meet individuals where they are and empower them to build resilience, find hope, and thrive.

A Full Spectrum of Support for Every Stage of Healing

Our approach is holistic and individualized, combining evidence-based therapeutic services with educational and residential programs tailored to each person’s unique needs.

From outpatient individual, family, and group therapy, to intensive family preservation, foster care, residential treatment, and day treatment programming — Griffith Centers provides flexible, structured environments that foster safety, growth, and success.

Our licensed and nationally accredited programs serve thousands annually across Colorado, including offices in Northglenn, Buena Vista, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Greeley, and Grand Junction, reaching many counties statewide.

Rooted in Trauma-Informed, Compassionate Care

We understand that many of the people we serve have faced significant trauma and hardships. That’s why everything we do centers on psychological and physical safety — creating spaces where healing can begin without judgment or fear.

Using approaches like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), the Sanctuary Model, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and innovative experiential therapies such as equine-assisted therapy, we meet clients with empathy and respect.

Our skilled team of over 80 therapists and 145 dedicated staff work collaboratively to guide individuals and families toward recovery and empowerment.

Guided by Our Founder’s Vision

Emily Griffith, our founder, was an educator and visionary who believed every child deserves a chance to succeed. She built a home grounded in shelter, guidance, and hope — a legacy that continues to inspire our mission today.

Like Miss Emily, we embrace a strengths-based philosophy that empowers people to overcome obstacles and discover their potential. We believe in meeting clients where they are, with acceptance, compassion, and a commitment to ethical, transparent care.
