Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP)
Providing a Safe, Supportive Space for Healing and Growth
Since 1927, Griffith Centers has stood as a beacon of hope for children and families across Colorado. Our Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) continues that legacy today by offering adolescent males ages 12–20 a structured, therapeutic environment designed to support emotional healing, academic success, and family reunification.
Through compassionate care and evidence-based practices, our goal is to help each young person reclaim their story and rebuild their future.
What is QRTP at Griffith Centers?
Our QRTP is a community-based Residential Child Care Facility (RCCF) that provides a wide range of therapeutic, educational, medical, and case management services. Youth in our care receive individualized treatment from a team of qualified professionals, including Master’s level mental health clinicians.
We serve youth navigating complex mental health diagnoses and life experiences, including:
- Trauma
- Mood and Conduct Disorders
- Autism
- Attachment Disorders
- Department of Human Services (DHS) or Youth Services commitments
A Continuum of Care with a Focus on Healing
Each young person entering our program receives a 7-day initial assessment by our multidisciplinary team (MDT). From there, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan that supports healing and growth across three critical areas:
- Therapeutic Care
- Residential/Daily Living Skills
- Educational Recovery or Advancement
Family integration remains a central part of our work—because healing happens not just within a program, but within relationships and community.
By the Numbers: A Legacy of Impact
Behind every number is a story of hope restored.

Educational Support and Transitional Programming
Clients attend school on-campus for credit recovery or to pursue a GED, supported by a dedicated academic team. As they progress, they can transition into our Transitional Skills Program or Independent Living Program, where they begin preparing for life beyond treatment—job readiness, high school graduation, apartment searching, and more.
A Wraparound Model That Extends Beyond Our Walls
We don’t just focus on care while clients are in residence—we help them transition successfully back into their communities. Through community-based mental and behavioral health services, telehealth, and six months of follow-up support, we ensure each youth and their family has the tools they need to thrive post-treatment.
Empowering Youth to Build a Better Future
Our QRTP provides more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to belong, to heal, and to grow. Whether a young person is overcoming trauma, rebuilding relationships, or recovering academically, Griffith Centers offers the support, structure, and care to help them succeed.
Life at the Lodges
Our residential program is rooted in stability, safety, and strength. We operate several lodges tailored to meet the needs and progress of our clients:
- Rockies and Avalanche Lodges: Provide high structure and supervision
- Prospect and Transitional Skills Program: Bridge to independence and community integration
- Independent Living: Offers a home-like setting focused on real-world readiness
Each environment supports progress in mental health, behavior regulation, social skills, and emotional development—while ensuring each young person receives comprehensive therapeutic care.
