When the Past Still Shapes the Present

Support for Trauma Survivors of All Ages and Backgrounds
Some wounds don’t show on the surface—but they still change how you move through the world. Maybe something happened recently. Maybe it happened years ago. Or maybe you’re not sure when it started—only that you haven’t felt safe or at ease in a long time.
You may be feeling:
- Constantly on edge, startled, or overwhelmed
- Numb or disconnected from your emotions and body
- Trapped in cycles of flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive thoughts
- Isolated from others or struggling with trust and intimacy
- Like you’re stuck in survival mode and can’t find your way forward
At Griffith Centers, we understand that trauma is not always visible—but it’s real. And it deserves to be met with care, not judgment.
You Are Not Broken—You Are Carrying Something Heavy
And You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone
Trauma shows up in how you react, how you protect yourself, and how you try to stay safe. You may not remember every moment of what happened—but your body remembers. Your relationships remember. And the fear or disconnection you feel today is a valid response to what you’ve been through.
Healing isn’t about forgetting or pretending it didn’t happen. It’s about creating safety, building trust in yourself, and reclaiming the parts of your life that trauma tried to take.
We meet you at your pace, on your terms—and help you move toward a life that feels more whole.
We Take Insurance
Nearly a Century of Trauma-Informed Support
Griffith Centers Has Been Serving Colorado Since 1927
For nearly 100 years, Griffith Centers has provided trauma-informed care for Colorado’s most underserved children, individuals, and families. We don’t only serve those with time and resources—we walk alongside people in the middle of crisis, transition, and uncertainty.
Our trauma therapy services are available across Colorado—including in-office, in-home, virtual, and community-based options—because healing begins where you feel safe.
We work with:
- Parents and caregivers facing reunification or crisis
- Children and teens healing after abuse, neglect, or displacement
- Adults navigating trauma from early life, systems involvement, or interpersonal violence
- Families impacted by trauma, system stress, or generational harm
Whether you are rebuilding after harm or still trying to name what happened, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Therapy That Respects What You’ve Survived
We Don’t Rush, Push, or Pathologize—We Listen
Healing from trauma isn’t about quick fixes. And it doesn’t come from being told to “just talk about it.” Our trauma-informed clinicians understand the deep impact of fear, betrayal, and survival. We know that building trust takes time—and that healing doesn’t look the same for everyone.
We use a range of evidence-based, body-aware, and developmentally appropriate modalities, including:
TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): For children, teens, and adults working through the emotional and cognitive impact of trauma
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): To help reduce the emotional weight of traumatic memories
Somatic and Mindfulness-Based Approaches: To support nervous system regulation and reconnection with your body
Play and Expressive Therapies: Especially helpful for children or individuals processing trauma nonverbally
Family Therapy and Parent Coaching: To support caregivers and restore safe connections at home
PASA Program Support: Individualized services that promote skill development, community integration, and increased independence for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities
We don’t expect you to have the words. We don’t expect you to “ just be okay.” We simply meet you where you are—and build safety from there.
You Deserve Support That Sees the Whole You
Even If You’ve Been Told Otherwise
Trauma can leave behind more than pain—it can leave behind shame. You may have been told you’re too much. That you’re too angry, too distant, too emotional, or too complicated. But the truth is:
What happened to you was not your fault.
How you’ve coped is not something to be ashamed of.
And healing is still possible—even now.
At Griffith Centers, you don’t have to be ready. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to show up.
We’ll be here to walk with you—every step of the way.
